Cellist Hermine Horiot has released the album “Boréales” on the French label 1001 Notes. The CD features works for solo cello by composers of the Nordic and Baltic countries. The newest work on the album “Fluctuation 13” is commissioned by Horiot from Nicklas Schmidt and can be heard alongside compositions by Arvo Pärt, Jean Sibelius, Ingvar Lidholm, Arne Nordheim & Peteris Vasks.

2014 in review

Bruun Hyldig Duo premieres new work in Washington D.C.

The well renowned duo is performing at American University on May 18th at 8 p.m. as a part of the EU month of Culture 2013. New choir album released on iTunes

HARPA Nordic Film Composer Award 2012 Nomination

DFMC (Danish Film & Media Composers) has announced Nicklas Schmidt as Denmark’s nominee for the HARPA Nordic Film Composer Award 2012 for the score for “the Great Bear”. The prize will be awarded in Reykjavik, Iceland in October in connection with the Reykjavik Film Festival. The Nordic Film Composer Award was initiated in 2008 and is now an annual happening with 5 nominees, one from each of the Nordic countries: Denmark,
