Bjarke Mogensen & Prinsens Musikkorps
The young rising accordeon star Bjarke Mogensen has commissioned a new work to be premiered 1st June 2012 where Mogensen features as soloist with the Prinsens Musikkorps Brass Ensemble. The new “Concertino” for accordeon and brass is one of a few of its kind written for this rare constellation of instruments. The ensemble will be lead by conductor Jesper Juul. Danish Film Academy Award Nomination
The orchestral score for Esben Toft Jacobsens “Den kæmpestore bjørn (The Great Bear)” has been nominated for the 2012 Robert Award in the category “Best Musical Score” The Robert is considered to be the highest honor in Danish filmmaking. The event has been inaugurated in 1984 and is the Danish Film Academy’s equivalent of the American Oscars. “The Great Bear” also received a nomination for “Best Feature” in the category

After a great recording session with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra in July, only some mixing is left now before the Danish theatrical premiere in 3D on September 29th 2011. The Great Bear
With a score recorded by the National Danish Symphony Orchestra, “The Great Bear” opened in Danish cinemas February 2011. The 3D-animated feature film is director Esben Toft Jacobsen’s debut. The Great Bear was in competition in the Generation programme at the Berlin Film Festival. The film has a 40 minute orchestral score recorded in the new DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen.
