The orchestral score for Esben Toft Jacobsens “Den kæmpestore bjørn (The Great Bear)” has been nominated for the 2012 Robert Award in the category “Best Musical Score” The Robert is considered to be the highest honor in Danish filmmaking. With a score recorded by the National Danish Symphony Orchestra, “The Great Bear” opened in Danish cinemas February 2011. The 3D-animated feature film is director Esben Toft Jacobsen’s debut. The Great Bear was in competition in the Generation programme at the Berlin Film Festival. The film has a 40 minute orchestral score recorded in the new DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen.
